Les chefs d’entreprise du Canada s’engagent à soutenir la vaccination massive contre la COVID-19

Plus de 300 jours se sont écoulés depuis la déclaration officielle de l’état de pandémie de la COVID-19 par l’Organisation mondiale de la santé. Cet événement a radicalement bouleversé le monde entier. Pour nombre d’entre nous, cela fait très longtemps que nous n’avons pas mis les pieds dans nos bureaux, que nous n’avons pas rencontré en personne nos collègues. C’est le temps que cela a pris pour que les activités commerciales de bon nombre d’entre nous retrouvent un semblant de normalité.

Un an après l’annonce de la pandémie, nous nous accrochons à une lueur d’espoir. Le vaccin contre la COVID-19 a déjà été administré en priorité à certaines populations. Nous attendons impatiemment que notre tour arrive… dans les mois à venir, espérons-le. En tant que chefs d’entreprise, nous voulons faire tout ce qui est en notre pouvoir pour soutenir la vaccination de masse. Si nous ne pouvons pas hâter les arrivages de vaccins, nous pouvons agir dans notre propre sphère d’influence : les entreprises que nous gérons et qui emploient collectivement des dizaines de milliers de Canadiens et Canadiennes.

Les chefs d’entreprise qui s’engagent à appuyer la vaccination massive comptent prendre des mesures spécifiques :

* Nous nous engageons à relayer les informations fiables des agences de santé publique à notre personnel pour les renseigner sur l’innocuité et l’efficacité du vaccin et les sensibiliser à l’importance de se faire vacciner. Nous nous engageons à tenir les membres de notre personne au fait des nouvelles informations à mesure que les responsables de la santé publique les publient.

* Dès que les vaccins seront disponibles à l’ensemble de la population, nous nous engageons à indiquer à la population en général où et quand obtenir le vaccin.

* Nous nous engageons à inciter notre personnel à se faire vacciner pendant les heures de travail; le temps non travaillé est superflu en comparaison à l’importance de cette mesure de protection pour soi et pour autrui.

En prenant cet engagement, nous voulons signifier à nos ressources humaines, à leurs familles et à l’ensemble de la population canadienne que la vaccination contre la COVID‑19 est prioritaire si l’on veut retrouver une situation normale. Nous voulons apporter notre contribution. Aussi, nous exhortons tous les chefs d’entreprise du Canada à se joindre à nous pour concrétiser cet engagement.
